INTERNATIONAL AFRICAN CENTRE FOR APPLIED PHENOMENOLOGY (IACAP) INFORMATION
The centre was founded in 20th October 2022 and is located at the St. Bonaventure University, Lusaka (Zambia)
AIMS
- Improving the knowledge of phenomenology
- Applying phenomenology to an African Context
- Partnership with other Phenomenological Centres
- Organizing seminars, conferences and lessons on phenomenological topics
ACTIVITIES
- Courses of Introduction to Phenomenology held at the St.Bonaventure University (every winter semester)
- Conference held by Prof. Giorgio Rizzo, University of Salento, Italy, on the 15th of October 2022: ‘The Atmospherical Turn in Phenomenology’ (in collaboration with the Centre of Hermeneutics and Applied Phenomenology, University of Salento)
- Conference held by Prof. Giorgio Rizzo, University of Salento, Italy, on the 5th of May 2024: ‘Phenomenology in an African Context. Paulin Hountondji’ (in collaboration with the Department of Philosophy and Applied Ethics, University of Zambia, and the Centre of Hermeneutics and Applied Phenomenology, University of Salento)
- Seminar on ‘Models and Perspectives on Perception’, held online by Prof. Daniela De Leo (University of Salento), 13th-15th May, 2024.
